It may feel like there is a political divide in Canada but many are on the same page when it comes to low satisfaction of those who run our provinces.

A poll conducted by Research Co., indicates Alberta and Ontario think they would be better off with someone else as Premier.

The online survey indicated that 52 per cent of Canadians overall want a different premier in charge.

Polls in Ontario show 60 per cent of residents are dissatisfied with Premier Doug Ford, while Alberta ranked second at 57 per cent.

Atlantic Canada, Saskatchewan and Manitoba also not happy with their provincial government, scoring 52 per cent each.

In addition, 50 per cent of Canadians believe their province would thrive with a different Prime Minister. Alberta scoring the highest on this with 65 per cent, while both Saskatchewan and Manitoba sit at 59 per cent.

Alberta saw a rise in the separation movement WEXIT, following the October Federal Election that saw Justin Trudeau and the Liberals win a minority government.

It appears some still want to separate with Research Co. saying one-in-four Canadians believing their province would be better off as its own country, including 40 per cent of residents of both Alberta and Quebec.

Lastly, Canadians were also asked if they would be in favour of joining the United States with 16 per cent of them in agreement, a feeling that is more pronounced in both Alberta and Quebec.

“The level of disagreement with the notion of a province joining the United States is highest among Canadians aged 55 and over at 87 per cent,” says Mario Canseco, President of Research Co. “The numbers also amount to a majority among Canadians aged 35-to-54 (71%) and Canadians aged 18-to-34 (66%).”
