Three charged with second-degree murder following downtown homicide

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Three people have been arrested, and charges are pending after a man died from an assault last weekend.

Police responded to the call around 5 a.m. Sunday near 11 Ave and 1 Street S.E. One man was taken to hospital where he later died.

On Monday, police arrested three men believed to be responsible for the attack.

Dwayne Lyn Turner, 52, Tyrell Noskiye, 29, and Yahye Gabad, 23, have all been charged with second-degree murder and will appear in court on Friday, Jan. 10.

The police have released the name of the victim.

Karson Goodeagle, 33, died as a result of a stabbing and his death is classified as Calgary’s third homicide of 2020.

Police believe this was a targeted attack motivated by drugs.

RCMP are still searching for a person of interest, 39-year-old Timothy Jones.
