Charges laid after woman dies in hit and run in Morley

MORLEY (660 NEWS) – A 19-year-old woman has been charged after a fatal hit-and-run in Morley.

Last Friday, Cochrane RCMP found a 40-year-old woman dead after she was hit by a vehicle on Morley Road.

Soon after police arrived, those in the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run returned to the road.

RCMP have now charged a 19-year-old woman with four charges, including failing to stop after an accident, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and driving without a license or insurance.

Police are still investigating the cause of the collision and believe speed played a role.
