Calgary Fire responds to three different incidents

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary Fire Department was hard at work tonight, responding to three different incidents all around the same time in the evening, Jan. 6.

At around 5:00 this evening, crews responded to a call of a possible house fire on 3 Ave NE.

“When we arrived, crews were met with a large volume of smoke coming out of the home. The fire was contained to some contents. It was unoccupied,” said battalion chief Paul Frederick.

“There is no extension, no exposures, and no injuries. Fire investigators are on their way to work on the origin of the fire and the cause.”

Frederick said that the fire was small and able to be contained.

A little later, two other incidents occurred, a kitchen fire at on 23 Ave NE and a small garbage fire at the Shepard Landfill.

Neither cases were large incidents.

“No injuries in all these cases and fire are all either out of under control,” confirmed Frederick.
