Shaw warns customers of data breach

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Shaw Communications is urging some customers to change passwords and use a two-step verification process following a data breach earlier this year.

A letter has been sent to the affected customers following the breach six months ago.

The company says a laptop with subscriber info was stolen back in June, 2019.

Shaw hasn’t confirmed how many customers have been affected, only saying it’s a limited number.

Right now, Shaw doesn’t believe there’s evidence any personal info has been violated.
