Two dead in crash west of Red Deer

RED DEER (660 NEWS) – Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash west of Red Deer on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 11 between Range Roads 283 and 284.

Blackfalds RCMP said an SUV travelling eastbound collided with two other vehicles, killing two women inside the SUV.

Icy road conditions were considered a factor in the crash.

The highway was closed for several hours but has since re-opened.
