Machete-wielding thieves wanted in High River restaurant holdup

HIGH RIVER (660 NEWS) – High River RCMP are looking for two suspects after an apparent theft at a restaurant involving a machete.

Police said it happened Monday night around 8:30 at the Rock-a-Doodle restaurant. Two men walked in with a machete, held an employee and a customer at knifepoint while stealing money from a VLT.

The suspects then forced the employee to direct them to the safe, which they removed from the building.

Police believe the pair fled in a silver, newer model Chevrolet or GM truck, possibly a crew or extended cab.

Both men are described as 5’5″ to 6′ tall and were wearing black jeans and jackets at the time of the theft.

One of the men was wearing a balaclava with sunglasses while the other had a Halloween mask with white eyes.

If you have any information on the suspects, you’re asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
