NEW YORK (660 NEWS) – The man affectionately known as ‘Big Save Dave’ is a player of the week in the NHL.
David Rittich posted a 2-0-1 record, 1.94 goals-against average and .941 save percentage in three games, moving the Calgary Flames within a point of a wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
The 27-year-old has suited up 23 games this season — leading the league in games played and minutes on the ice. He’s gone 12-7-4 with a 2.68 goals-against average, .915 save percentage and two shutouts.

Calgary is coming off a weekend win over the Ottawa Senators, part of a run with points in four straight. The Flames continue a homestand Thursday versus the Buffalo Sabres.
