CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Emergency crews were called to a northeast Calgary home Saturday morning after a medical distress call was made.

At the time of the call, there were 9 people in the home, including four children that were transported to the children’s hospital.

6 adults and one man who was not home at the time were also taken to hospital.

After crews arrived they determined the home had extremely high levels of carbon monoxide.

Carbon monoxide is known as the silent killer because it’s odourless and colourless.

EMS is reminding people to make sure their monitors are working, especially during the winter months.
