CPS Guns and Gang Unit hunting for two suspects linked to violent incidents

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Two men have been charged, but the hunt continues for two others following an operation by the Calgary Police Guns and Gangs Unit.

In September, the team began looking for the suspects who it believed could pose a danger to the community.

Over the weekend, police arrested three people from an SUV parked at a truck stop on Barlow Trail southeast and seized a restricted semi-automatic handgun and a banned high capacity magazine.

However, two others were able to get away and their identities have not been released.

“We are proactively targeting individuals involved in a high-risk criminal lifestyle who have the potential to commit violence in our community,” said Staff Sergeant Greg Cooper of the CPS Guns and Gangs Unit.

“While we continue to use multiple police resources to target these individuals, the continued support of the community is crucial in helping us to hold these individuals accountable.”

Police say continued support and tips from the community is crucial to finding and charging these criminals.
