Police lay charges after Drop-In Centre shooting

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — A man is facing several charges after a shooting at the Drop-In Centre in downtown Calgary Saturday night.

Around 7 p.m., emergency crews were called to the scene near Riverfront Avenue. One man was rushed to Foothills Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, but was upgraded to stable overnight.

Two suspects were originally taken into custody, but the second person has been released and will not face any charges.

Officers confirm Reginald Denis, 35, has been charged with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm and breaching a court order.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
