Calgary Tower re-opens months after elevator mishap

CALGARY(660 NEWS)–The Calgary Tower is re-opening to the public, four months after it was shut down following an elevator malfunction and dramatic rescue.

Sky 360 restaurant posted on its website, that November 12 is the first day back in operation.

A thorough inspection was ordered after some cables snapped, causing an elevator to drop several stories in July.

The Calgary Fire Department’s high angle rescue team helped free a number of people who became trapped.

Luckily, no one was hurt.

It has taken this long to make the repairs and for the elevator to get the all-clear from inspectors.
