CALGARY (660NEWS) — The Calgary Hitmen closed out a five-game homestand with a shootout loss to the Tri-City Americans.

The Hitmen opened the scoring with a first-period goal by Egor Zamula.

Tri-City then replied with two unanswered goals from Kyle Olson and Nick Bowman on Hitmen goalie Jack McNaughton.

Calgary battled back with two third-period goals from Mark Kastelic, on the power play, and Carson Focht.

After the Hitmen thought they could hold on for the win, Connor Bouchard of the Americans tied it with 20 seconds left in the game.

Overtime couldn’t decide a winner, so it extended into a shootout where Bouchard scored the only goal to seal the win.

Next up for the Hitmen will be up in Edmonton on Saturday night as they take on the Oil Kings.
