Road crews busy after Sunday snowfall

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Another dusting of snow means more than just brushing off your car or truck.

The City of Calgary says some roads will be tricky to navigate Monday after snow came down on Sunday.

Chris McGeachy with the roads department it’s important drivers stay patient.

“Bridge decks, on off-ramps and at intersections, those can be the trouble spots where ice builds up. We just want to remind people to take it easy.”

City crews are working on high-volume priority one roads and will work down the priority list once the snowfall ends.

McGeachy reminds drivers crews won’t be able to clear some of the streets immediately.

“We expect we will see snow throughout the day, throughout the morning and then we’re probably going to see more tomorrow. Crews right now will be focused on those high volume roads just to keep everyone moving safely.”

He adds with the coming snowfall, it will also take a while for city crews to clear off secondary streets.
