Another round of fines handed out in kamikaze candidate scandal

EDMONTON (660 NEWS) – Yet another round of fines has been issued relating to the United Conservative Party leadership race.

The Alberta Election Commissioner has levied a total of $25,000 in penalties to a contributor to Jeff Callaway’s campaign, as well as a mysterious company.

Robyn Lore faces the bulk of the fines with the rest going to his company Agropyron Enterprises.

One of Lore’s penalties is for colluding with Callaway, the so-called “kamikaze candidate” in the race, to try and circumvent contribution limits.

Cameron Davies, who was Callaway’s campaign manager, is also named in one of the penalties as Lore and is accused of giving a total of $60,000 to Davies so he could contribute to the campaign.

The address for Agropyron Industries is listed as a home in the northwest community of MacEwan and no other details about it can be found.

Tens of thousands of dollars in fines have been issued relating to Callaway’s campaign since investigations into a scandal to get Premier Jason Kenney selected as leader began to surface last year.
