Police describe suspect wanted after NE Calgary gunfight

Early morning shooting in Monterey Park. As Tom Ross reports the Alberta serious incident response team is now investigating the shooting.

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Calgary police are out with a description of a suspect wanted after a gunfight in the northeast early Thursday morning.

Officers were called to a home in Monterey Park just before 3 a.m. for reports of armed men inside a home.

HAWCS flew over the scene first, and as ground officers arrived, the suspects started fleeing and fired on police.

One member, a seven-year veteran of the force, fired back, though it doesn’t appear anyone was hit.

Two of the suspects were arrested nearby after ditching the getaway vehicle.

The suspect, still on the loose, is described as a dark-skinned male, in his late 20s or early 30s, 5’7″ tall and was wearing a tan-coloured camouflage jacket with a hood.
