Man identified in McKenzie Lake shooting

Police investigate city's 15th homicide case. Crystal Laderas tells us what police are looking for in relation to the death of a 29 year old man.

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Calgary police have identified the man found dead in McKenzie Lake on Monday.

On Oct. 7 around 11:45 p.m., Police and EMS were called to Mt. Aberdeen Manor SE for reports a man was lying in the street in distress.

The man died by the time emergency crews arrived.

Following an autopsy, the man was identified as 29-year-old Matthew David Maniago. It’s believed Maniago died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say this is Calgary’s 15th homicide of the year and was likely a targetted shooting.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and asking anyone who may have dashcam footage of the events leading up to the shooting to contact police.

Police are also looking for a vehicle seen leaving the street, possibly a newer model white Honda CRV.

The family of Mangiano is requesting privacy at this time and will not be commenting.
