‘A piece of justice’ for Northern B.C. murder victim’s family

NORTHERN BC (NEWS 1130) – The family of Chynna Deese, one of three people killed in Northern B.C. this summer, is thanking the RCMP following a final report released yesterday.

Mounties say in a series of recorded videos 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky and 19-year-old Kam McLeod confessed to the murders of Deese, her Australian boyfriend Lucas Fowler and UBC lecturer Leonard Dyck.

In an online post, Deese’s family says Chynna was a “ray of sunshine” and life without her has made the “world feel a bit darker”.

RCMP still haven’t been able to determine a motive for the murders.
McLeod and Schmegelsky were found dead following a suicide pact in Northern Manitoba.
