CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The snow we have been expecting has moved into the Calgary region.

Snow has been falling lightly in some areas and steadily in others in and around the Calgary region since early Friday night.

Callers saying many communities are seeing a rain/snow mix paired with wind gusts at times making for less than ideal visibility.

Mounties have also said road conditions west to Canmore are not good with reports of slick conditions on Highway 1 and Highway 1A and a number of vehicles in the ditch.

The mountain parks are under a winter storm warning.

It is expected that around 10-15 centimetres of the white stuff could fall on the city and the region over the course of the weekend with over 60 cms possible in areas south and southwest of the city.

Motorists are reminded to drive to the conditions and stay off the roads if possible.
