CALGARY (660NEWS) — We hear stories about bobcats in yards in Calgary suburbs, but right in the inner city?

Daorcey Le Bray posted a video on his Twitter feed today of four of the animals wandering on his colleague’s property in Mount Royal earlier this week.

“He has contacted Alberta Environment about it and it’s up to them about what they do next. But in the meantime I thought this could be an educational experience for folks,” Le Bray said about sharing the video his co-worker took on social media.

He was surprised the bobcats wandering so far into the city, but has heard from other friends who have seen them.

“This is the inner city, this is Mount Royal. I was just talking to a friend of mine who lives in the same building as me on 7th Street and he was like, “Oh yeah, I’ve seen those,'” Le Bray added and hopes this doesn’t lead to more wildlife venturing into the city, including bears.

Fish and wildlife officers who have been reported on the multiple sightings say to just leave them alone and they will move on.
