RCMP recover stolen drivers licenses, passports in Springbank

SPRINGBANK – Alberta RCMP say a suspicious vehicle stop west of Calgary has led to the recovery of drivers licences, passports and copper wire allegedly linked to break-ins in the area.

Police say members of the Cochrane detachment were patrolling the Springbank area Saturday when they observed a vehicle in a field near an abandoned home.

As police approached it attempted to flee but immediately became stuck in the mud.

Police arrested the female driver and found the stolen items inside the vehicle.

The Calgary resident faces seven counts of possession of stolen identification, one count of break and entering to commit theft, and one count of possession of a stolen vehicle.
