Weekend closures coming to Crowchild, Glenmore Trail

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – You might want to plan a different route this weekend if you regularly travel on Glenmore Trail and Crowchild Trail.

The City of Calgary will be closing some lanes and ramps as part of the ongoing rehab project.

“One of the most significant ones will be northbound and southbound Crowchild Trail between 50 Ave and Glenmore Trail will be fully closed on Saturday between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.,” said Michael Cox with the Transportation Department.

The closures are taking place to remove the existing pedestrian bridge deck.

Cox said there will also be closures Sunday and Monday overnight.

“Depending on the direction of travel, the easier routes will include either 50 Avenue, Mount Royal Gate, Richard Road or 37 Street S.W. It just really depends on where you’re travelling through that interchange.”

You can find more details on the Crowchild Trail closures at the City of Calgary website.
