Three injured in stabbing and pepper spray melee near Olympic Plaza

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Three people suffered minor injuries after a stabbing and pepper spray incident in downtown Calgary on Wednesday night.

Just before 8 p.m., a witness called 911 when he discovered a man bleeding from stab wounds to his face across from Olympic Plaza.

When a middle-aged woman, who was seen stabbing the man, started to walk away from the scene she was pepper sprayed by another individual and the spray happened to hit a bystander.

Within minutes Calgary police arrived and arrested the woman inside a Tim Horton’s.

The stabbing victim was then taken to hospital with minor injuries and the bystander was treated by emergency services at the scene.

Calgary police say charges are pending against the woman.
