City crews have cleaned out the pool and was allowed to open again on Monday

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The wading pool at Olympic Plaza is back open after a poop-related issue.

On Wednesday, August 7th, Alberta Health Services ordered the city to close the pool after detecting fecal coliforms.

At the time of inspection, there was more than six time the allowable amount of coliforms in the water.

After it was closed down through the rest of the week and over the weekend, the city confirmed to 660 NEWS that they were given the green light to let people back in the water as of noon on Monday.

AHS also ordered the City of Calgary to take any corrective measures to eliminate any possible source of contamination and take efforts to prevent this from happening again.
