2 South Korean tourists found dead at Croatian national park

ZAGREB, Croatia — Officials in Croatia say two South Korean tourists have been found dead in a river at a national park in the southeast of the country.

South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said Monday that it was informed that the bodies of a man in his 50s and a woman in her 20s were discovered on Saturday at the Krka river national park some 50 metres from a wooden bridge spanning the river.

Croatian media reported that the bodies of the two, presumed to be father and daughter, were found in the river holding hands. They reportedly arrived at the popular nature park with a rented car.

The South Korean ministry said their nationality was confirmed based on their belongings.

Croatian police say they are investigating the cause of their death.
