Fire inspection leads to drug bust in NW Calgary

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — A fire inspection at a home in northwest Calgary turned up a lot more than a poorly installed smoke detector.

It led to the discovery of a drug trafficking operation.

Police seized nearly $175,000 worth of illegal drugs, from cocaine to fentanyl, during searches at several homes, including one along Paramount Drive, where the illicit activity was first noticed in March of this year.

Four people have been charged, ranging from the ages of 22 to 52.

Anyone with information on drug trafficking is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service non-emergency number 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers.
