Wild chain of events sees Good Samaritans attacked while trying to help driver in Ontario crash

A man is under arrest after a bizarre series of events early Friday morning in Mississauga, Ontario.

It started with a crash around 3:00 a.m. involving a single-vehicle along Highway 403. Ontario Provincial Police said a car lost control and rolled over on the westbound express lanes.

Other drivers pulled over to help — but that’s when things apparently took a turn.

Police said the male driver in the rolled over vehicle apparently started to attack the Good Samaritans, and even allegedly tried to steal their vehicles.

“It’s mind boggling,” one motorist said. “You’re on a highway in a dangerous situation and then somebody attacks you? I’d be shocked — I don’t know how I’d go on with my day after that. That’s bizarre, to say the least.”

The man is also said to have assaulted a male Uber driver and a female passenger who had fled from the Uber. They were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Then — the suspect was Tased by police. Police sources told 680 NEWS it took six officers to restrain the man, who was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The man is expected to face several charges, police added. It’s unclear if he was impaired by drugs or alcohol.
