Stampede sees second-highest attendance in history

Another Calgary Stampede comes to an end and organizers are calling it another success. But for some, the most memorable part of this year’s ‘Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth’ may be the three chuckwagon horse deaths.

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – It may have been off to a slow start, but attendance at this year’s Calgary Stampede surpassed last year’s totals.

In fact, 2019 had the second-highest attendance in history with over 1,275,000 coming through the gates.

The number is up 4,224 attendees from the 2018 Stampede.

The Centennial Calgary Stampede in 2012 still holds the record with 1,409,371 attending the 10-day spectacle.
