Where are the hot temperatures for Calgary?

Andrew's 7 Day Forecast

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – It is the middle of July and summer is in the air but the only thing missing in Calgary is 30-degree temperatures.

Meteorologist Andrew Schultz with Breakfast Television on CityTV said the highest we’ve had so far is just over 27 degrees which hit on June 13.

Unfortunately, that warmth hasn’t carried over into this month.

“So far in July, a little on the cool side, 19.3 (degrees) when the monthly average is 23.2”

Last year, Calgary reached 30 degrees or warmer five times.

Schultz said that it doesn’t look like we’ll break the 30-degree mark anytime soon.

“If you look at June, I think a lot of people would be surprised that we were warmer than average for the month only by half a degree. We’ll cross our fingers for some of that warmth but in the meantime, not reaching for that 30-degree zone anytime soon.”

In 2016, Schultz noted there was only one day in June and July where Calgary reached 30 degrees.
