A world record night at the Calgary Stampede.
High wire acrobat Nik Wallenda walked more than half a kilometre above the midway to set a new high wire walk world record.
He also held the old world record.
Wallenda walked a total of 549 metres on a steel wire only 19 millimetres thick.
The wire was secured with cables 35 metres above the midway, leading to many gawkers stopping and snapping pictures of the death-defying stunt.
Wallenda is the seventh generation of the ‘Great Wallenda’ tight rope walking family.
