Record Friday at Calgary Stampede

CALGARY (660 NEWS)—The less-than-ideal weather didn’t keep people away from the Calgary Stampede on the first full day of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.

Officials say a new daily attendance record was set Friday, July 5, with 127,777 people clicking through the turnstiles.

That’s about 5,300 more than the same day last year, which set the previous high mark.

Saturday wasn’t quite as popular.

Just under 105,000 went to the grounds, a drop of about 10,000 from the first Saturday of the 2018 Stampede.

Cumulative attendance for 2019 is 262,076.
