Police arrest two men for child abuse, save two kids

RED DEER – RCMP say two children have been rescued and two men arrested following a child sexual abuse investigation in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Police say child exploitation investigators in both provinces worked together after receiving information about child pornography being shared online and on social media.

Investigators say they arrested two suspects on June 26 after searches in Rocanville, Sask., and Red Deer.

Police say the two children involved are now safe and are being helped by children’s services.

The suspect arrested in Rocanville, who is 35, is charged with three counts of sexual interference, agreement to commit a sexual offence against a child, and child pornography offences.

The suspect in Red Deer, who is 40, faces incest, making arrangements to commit a sexual offence against a child, sexual assault, interference and exploitation, and child pornography charges.

The names of the two men are not being released.
