Police say Monday night shooting in NE was not random

As the sound of fireworks echoed through the streets of downtown Calgary late Canada Day, the northeast community of Saddle Ridge was instead filled with the sound of gun shots. Two men were sent to hospital. Police are looking for a suspect. Jon Muma reports.

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Two men are recovering after being shot late Monday night in Saddle Ridge.

Calgary police said it happened around 11 p.m. on Saddlelake Drive.

Police do not believe it was a random shooting and they continue to investigate.

Sgt. Duane Lepchuck said officers are still looking for a suspect.

The two men were taken to hospital where one in stable condition, the other was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

Anyone with information about what happened is asked to come forward to police.
