CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The City of Calgary is looking into possible changes to residential parking permits.
Many of these residential permits have been in place since the mid-1970s.
Right now, there are 80 residential parking zones in the city, and more than 40,000 permits are issued annually.
Most permits are issued in downtown or in high traffic areas like CTrain stations and colleges.
One of the changes being considered is whether it should be easier to establish a parking zone.
An open house will take place Tuesday night at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Centre, and another on Saturday at Cardel Rec South.
The city is also accepting online feedback until June 26.
