8th annual Wings and Wheels takes flight for Father’s day

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — If dad loves cars and airplanes the Hangar Flight Museum is the place to be for Father’s Day.

During their 8th annual Wings and Wheels, Herb Grieder with the museum says they’ll have tonnes of antique vehicles, vintage airplanes and lots to do for the kids.

“We’ve got a craft corner set up for the kids so mom and dad can keep the kids occupied,” he said. “We’ve got our vintage airplanes open from our DC-3 Lancaster Bomber, our de Havilland Twin Otters for people to go inside.”

Grieder says they’ll also be offering rides in the aircraft.

“It’ll be a beautiful day to go for, to take dad for a helicopter ride, we’re doing the west side of the city so they’ll get an awesome view of downtown, and we’ve got at least 50 cars already pre-registered and or motorcycles,” he said.

Also, if dad has his own classic set of wheels he can join in.

The event goes from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Hangar Flight Museum in the northeast and fathers get in free.
