Calgary man charged in double murder

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — After a 14-month investigation, a Calgary man has been charged in connection with a double murder in April 2018.

Christopher Naidu, 29, was arrested and charged Saturday with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Joshua Bamfo, 25, and Mahad Ainanshe, 23. Naidu was initially arrested back in April 2018, however, he was released without charge. He is expected to appear in court on Monday, June 17.

Police believe the homicides were targeted and that the victims and Naidu knew each other.

On April 20, 2018, at around 3:10 p.m. emergency responders found two men dead in a Nissan Murano SUV parked behind a stretch of townhomes. Another man was seen running from the crime scene near Evanscrest Mews N.W. after reports of gunshots.
