Consumer price index in April up 2.0 per cent from year ago

OTTAWA — Statistics Canada says the consumer price index was up 2.0 per cent in April compared with a year ago.

The move compared with a year-over-year increase of 1.9 per cent in March.

Economists on average had expected an increase of 2.0 per cent for April, according to Thomson Reuters Eikon.
