Waterton Lakes National Park ready for visitors

WATERTON LAKES (660 NEWS) – Despite some construction happening in Waterton Lakes Nation Park, the area is ready to welcome visitors for the 2019 season.

There is a wide variety of activities, special events, volunteer opportunities and interpretation programs for all those who go to the park.

The area is still recovering after the Kenow Wildfire that caused damage in 2017.

Parks Canada is trying to squeeze in as much work as possible during the short construction season. It is working on advancing Federal Infrastructure Investment projects and also another 30 spots that were damaged during the blaze.

Parks Canada is asking people to plan ahead so they can have the best possible experience while visiting. Visitors are also being encouraged to drive carefully and to expect construction noise in the park.
