CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Two people from Calgary are facing drug trafficking charges after a tip from the public.
In April, police received reports from community members in Forest Lawn that there was potential drug activity happening at a residence on 48th Street S.E.
Officers then searched the home on May 7, where they seized a small amount of methamphetamine, fentanyl and other drugs. They also found a knife, bear spray and a machete, and took nine people into custody.
Dijon Symonds-Gilbert, 29, is facing charges including three counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.
Destiny Maria Christian, 19, is facing three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.
Symonds-Gilbert is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, while Christian will be in court on May 22.
Four of the other people in custody were arrested on outstanding warrants, and the other three were released without charges.
