CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Calgary City Councillor Jeromy Farkas has taken to social media to share a notice of motion he’ll be bringing forward at the next meeting, after a traffic nightmare in Calgary’s southwest over the long weekend.
Further to your feedback and suggestions, I have formally submitted the attached Notice of Motion to address construction project co-ordination in Southwest Calgary. It will be debated on April 29th, 2019. #yyccc #yycroads #yycward11 #swbrt pic.twitter.com/tgeED7tm4D

Closures along 14 St. and nearby Anderson Rd. at the same time had some people reporting to 660 NEWS that it took them 45 minutes to move six blocks. Others worried emergency services wouldn’t be able to get through the backups.
Farkas wants an explanation about what happened for the public.
He also suggests there be no closures of major roadways in the southwest quadrant of the city if another single lane closure is happening on another key route at the same time.
The road wasn’t fully reopened until Monday afternoon.
