Calgary mourns with Sri Lanka at Tuesday evening vigil

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Dozens of Calgarians from all walks of life and religions made their way to city hall to mourn and remember the more than 320 people killed and over 500 injured in the horrific Easter Sunday Bombings.

Just after 6 p.m., people began to show up at city hall to show their support.

They carried signs with messages and pleas for peace that read, “Sending love and light to Sri Lanka” amongst other messages.

“It’s important for us to stand together against any kind of victimization happening anywhere in the world so that’s why we decided to get together people from every community and every faith, to come together.” said organizer Junaid Bahadur Khan who brought a message of unity.

This vigil comes as others have been held around the world in the days following the massacre.
