MS Society continues letter campaign to provincial candidates

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Multiple Sclerosis Society Chapter for Alberta and the North West Territories has taken advantage of the Alberta election by starting a letter campaign.

The campaign gives Albertans living with the disease or those who are supporting someone living with the disease the ability to write to their candidates about life with MS.

Candice Laws with the MS Society told 660 NEWS that eleven people a day are diagnosed with the disease, and when people join in on the campaign, they are helping open the eyes of whoever will be the provinces, next leader.

“This will help whoever is in power post-election understand just how big of an issue this is and help them work better with those living with MS,” Laws said.

Since the campaign started back in March Laws said that it has taken off, and she believes the reason is because it is online and accessible to everyone.

“This disease doesn’t live in just one area of Alberta, it covers the entire province, so this lets everyone participate no matter where they live.”

She said that anyone who wants to participate could visit the campaign website and reach their candidate through there.
