Thousands of fines issued as street sweeping continues

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Thousands of people continue to pay the price for not moving their vehicles during street sweeping operations.
According to numbers from the Calgary Parking Authority (CPA), 6303 tickets were issued and 182 vehicles were towed between April 4 and 7.
Since the beginning of April, the CPA has handed out 9, 827 fines and towed over 200 vehicles
Tickets for not moving your vehicle are $120, but cheaper if you pay within 30 days.
Street sweepers continue to remove sand and other debris from streets around Calgary and signs are posted to let you know when sweeping will take place in your neighbourhood.
