Thousands of tickets handed out after two days of street sweeping

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Just two days into the street sweeping campaign and the city has already handed out at least $156,000 in fines.

According to the Calgary Parking Authority, on April 1 and 2, nearly 2,000 vehicles were ticketed for being parked in street cleaning areas, 86 of which were towed.

Information on the City of Calgary website indicates that you can get a ticket if you’re parked in a community where signs have been put up warning of the street cleaning.
