Calgary Hitmen beat Lethbridge to even playoff series

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The Calgary Hitmen snapped a 2-2 third period tie with three unanswered goals in a 5-2 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes from the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The best-of-seven opening round Western Hockey League playoff series is now tied 2-2.

Riley Stotts with a goal and two assists and Ryder Korczak with three helpers led the way for Calgary.

James Malm, Josh Prokop, Vladislav Yeryomenko and Luke Coleman, into an empty net, also tallied markers for the home side while goaltender Jack McNaughton made 37 saves in a first star performance.

Jake Elmer and Logan Barlage scored for the Hurricanes who outshot the Hitmen 39-35.

The Hurricanes took the first two matchups of the series.

The series moves back to Lethbridge for Game 5 on Saturday, Mar. 30.

Calgary will then host Game 6 on Sunday, Mar. 31 at 4:00 p.m.
