The Calgary Fire Department received the call before noon, when a neighbour noticed smoke coming from the window, he went to alert the homeowners who were not home at the time.

Crews arrived at the home in Kincora Park and began to fight the fire from the outside.

“So the fire had burned some holes in the main floor which affected the structural integrity of the main floor making it more dangerous for fire crew to be inside,” she said. Carol Henke, Public Information Officer

No other injuries have been reported.

The fire was contained to one home and crews continue to investigate the cause.
