Fire crews battle blaze in SW

CALGARY (660 NEWS) — Calgary fire crews were busy Wednesday afternoon as they battled a garage fire in the city’s S.W.
Multiple calls came in around 3:30 p.m. of a detached garage fire near the 1700 block of 12 Ave. S.W.
Crews managed to get the blaze under control quickly thanks to calls from residents.
“It’s really encouraging to see that people so quickly called 9-1-1,” said Spokesperson for the Calgary Fire Department Carol Henke. “The sooner we are made aware of an emergency, the sooner we can get moving.”
No injuries were reported from the fire.
Crews remained on scene putting out hot spots along with a fire investigator looking into a possible cause.
