Snowfall warning still in place for areas north of Calgary

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Winter is showing it’s still sticking around, as once again many people throughout the province are dealing with snow.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for areas north of Calgary, Including Airdrie and Rockyview County.

Areas of Cochrane are also under a snowfall warning.

This has lead to several problems on highways as drivers dealt with whiteout conditions Thursday night.

Southbound QEII was shut down late Thursday night near Carstairs because of a jack-knifed semi.

The highway has since reopened but conditions are still not favourable.

Environment Canada says people should prepare for quickly changing conditions and rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
