CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Calgary city council will receive an update on improving safety around the safe consumption site at the Sheldon Chumir Centre on Monday.

Earlier this year, a police report showed calls to the area by officers nearly tripled following the opening of the consumption site.

Calgary police have already added ten more officers to the area to help out.

On the agenda, council will find out what other things are being done or proposed to help, including which items can be acted on immediately if funding is received.
