CALGARY (660 NEWS) – An Alberta group is overjoyed with the announcement that the third Ghostbusters movie is scheduled to be filmed in Calgary.
Alberta Ghostbusters event planner Dustin Milne said everyone is pretty excited about the development.
“At first when it started kinda leaking out on the Internet we were all like yeah sure, Calgary, why would they bring it here?” said Milne.
However, he says as news started to progress and it became more official the news really sank in.
“We all got excited thinking how can we get in on this, how can we be extras for this?”
He adds that if anyone from Sony hears this story, he knows some extras for the film that already have their own equipment.
Milne helps run the local cosplay group as a not-for-profit where they raise money for local charities.
The group just raised $9,000 which was donated to the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
